United by a conviction that freedom of thought, inquiry, and expression must be defended, they work to educate their members and the public at large about the dangers of censorship and how to oppose them. If someone needs help trying to speak out against censorship the NCAC will aid their efforts. They assist community groups and individuals with strategies and resources for resisting censorship and creating a climate hospitable to free expression.
